Organizational Structure

MetroCare is governed by a Board of Directors, which is elected by the membership at-large. The Board consists of 20 Directors including 8 Primary Care physicians, 8 Sub-Specialist physicians and 2 Ob/Gyn physicians.

Board committees include Executive, Membership and Operations. The Board also elects five of its directors to serve on the Health Choice, LLC Board to represent the interests of the membership in its joint venture with Methodist Healthcare. A Practice Management Advisory committee also meets monthly and is comprise of approximately 15 practice managers representing a broad representation of our membership (solo, small group, large group, primary care, specialist and hospital based physicians.)

Three years ago, MetroCare established a self insured trust to offer it’s members (including their office staff and families) access to competitively priced health insurance coverage not typically afforded to small groups. Currently the trust has over 2000 covered lives representing 110 participating member groups.
